This Was IIFF 2017!

The International Images Film Festival, ICAPA/WFOZ flagship project, was engaged in diverse activities across the continent throughout the year.

February - IIFF Team visited the Africa Hub at the Berlin Film Festival

Contacts made there resulted in several ongoing projects, including the adaptation of the novel TRAPPED IN OBLIVION by Nigerian writer Ifeoma Theodore

February/ March - IIFF National Outreach

Audiences in Bulawayo, Matobo and Binga came in numbers, despite the cyclone drenching the region. Enthusiasm for the event was high. Some venues drew over 200 viewers from surrounding communities per screening. Audiences engaged in spirited discussions after the films.

April - IIFF at MipTV in Cannes

In April the IIFF team visited MipTV, The Global TV and Digital Content Market in Cannes, in line with a new focus on producing for television

May/June - IIFF at the NGZ Bulawayo

A new partnership between IIFF and the National Gallery in Bulawayo saw a program of screenings in May/ June curated by IIFF and organised by NGZ.

August - IIFF at Matobofest

Another first for the International Images Film Festival for Women was curating the film program at this year's MatoboFest.

September - IIFF Main Festival

This year IIFF was held as a combined festival with ZIFFT. Screenings were held in Mufakose and Kensington.
